About City College
Originally founded as the Institute of Specialized Training and Management, Inc., City College is a not-for-profit organization established in 1988. The school started as a vocational institution but became a college in 1996.
It is now considered a junior college with a mission to “educate and train students in their chosen major for employment in specific career fields.” The school focuses on the individual’s responsibility to become a contributing citizen.
About the Hospitality Management Program
City College offers an Associate of Science degree in Hospitality Management. While the program includes general education classes, there is also an emphasis on business courses.
Students enrolled in the Hospitality Management program generally go on to pursue entry-level careers in hotels and restaurants, including positions of convention management assistants, special events assistants, food and beverage management trainees, and resort marketing assistants.
Accreditation
The school has been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and is able to offer Diplomas, Associate of Science, and Bachelor of Science degrees. It is also licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, divisions of Non-public Career Education and Independent Colleges and Universities for the same.
Financial Aid
Students interested in financial aid resources to attend City College can talk to their Admissions Representative who will set up an appointment with a Financial Aid Officer. They will be asked to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine their eligibility for the various types of grants and loans. Work-study positions may also be available. Students who have already completed on academic year may be eligible to apply to the Richard W. Skidmore Scholarship Fund.
