About Stratford University
The School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality offers a total of five programs: a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management; an Associate of Applied Science in Advanced Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, or Hotel and Restaurant Management; and a Professional Diploma in Advanced Culinary Arts.
Of these, the Hotel and Restaurant Management AAS and Hospitality Management BA are offered both on campus and online. Many of these programs also offer an optional certification from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

About the Hospitality Management BA Program
The Hospitality Management BA program is an internationally-recognized four year course. It focuses on human resources, hotel management, facility design, food and beverage operations, and the financial aspect of running a successful business. About the Culinary Arts AAS Program
The Advanced Culinary Arts AAS program focuses on teaching students culinary skills, general communication, culinary theory, and problem-solving. It is well-rounded and includes courses on baking, pastry, and hospitality.
About the Baking and Pastry Arts AAS Program
The Baking and Pastry Arts AAS program teaches both classical and modern baking techniques. Students learn how to make desserts, decorate cakes, and bake a variety of pastries and breads. It covers general culinary skills, as well.
About the Hotel and Restaurant Management AAS Program
The Hotel and Restaurant Management AAS program gives students the training they need to work in hotels and large event facilities. Graduates receive certification from the American Hotel and Motel Association and are able to seek qualification as a Certified Hospitality Supervisor.
About the Advanced Culinary Arts Professional Diploma Program
The Advanced Culinary Arts Professional Diploma program is a shortened version of the AAS degree program. It prepares students for entry-level work with the same culinary classes but doesn't offer the general education credits of the AAS. It is usually completed within a year of the start date.
Accreditation
The school has certification from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, giving it certification to operate in the state. It is also accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, making it qualified to award degrees and certifications. This same qualification is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. The Culinary Arts programs are further accredited and recognized by the American Culinary Federation.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to qualified students in the form of federal grants, government loans, and state assistance. Private loans and scholarships many also apply, depending on the area of study and the approval of the funding source.
Faculty
All instructors at Stratford University have proven experience in restaurants and kitchens around the globe. They are hired to work closely with students to foster an environment of success. To further this goal, lecture classes typically contain 24 students; laboratories have 22. Faculty members average a total of 8 years of hands-on professional experience each.
Facilities
The culinary facilities at Stratford University are modeled after real restaurants and commercial kitchens. The Chef's Table, an on-site restaurant at Stratford University, is open to the public.
