CULINARY ARTS

culinary schools pasadena californiaDesigned to provide hands-on training in culinary arts including food preparation skills, store room operations, presentation of classic and international cuisine, safety, sanitation, food selection, nutrition and purchasing. Upon successful completion of the program, you can enter the food service industry in positions as Cooks, Line Cooks, and Assistant Pastry Chefs.

As you path continues and you gain experinece, your can persue a career path to become a Chef by working in opportunities as Sous Chefs, Head Chefs, and Pastry Chefs.

The culinary arts program finishes up with a 20-week externship offering you the opportunity to apply your skills.

PASTRY ARTS

This program prepares students for opportunities as Pastry Cooks and Assistant Pastry Chefs, and begins their career path to achieving Pastry Chef status. Students are introduced to the art of making specialty breads, cakes, pies, pastry creams and French pastry, presented with skills in advanced decoration and design, and given an overview of the operation of a commercial kitchen and a bake shop. The program culminates in a 16-week externship offering students opportunities to apply their skills.

HOSPITALITY RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT

A new program to assist students understand and gain the skills needed to enter the food service industry. Drawing on the resources of The Chef’s Academy, it integrates the industry’s preference for both food service (“the back of the house”) and hospitality (“the front of the house”) skills. The program includes a strong management component which encompasses problem-solving, forecasting, strategic-planning, team building, and human resource management.
