About the Certificate in Baking and Pastry Program 

The certificate in Baking and Pastry program is a fast paced program. It encompasses 36 credit-hours and prepares students for entry-level work in bakeries and cake decorating facilities. In addition to basic kitchen skills, there is a focus on the techniques necessary for bread making, dessert composition, and event decoration.

About the Certificate in Culinary Arts Program

Focusing primarily on practical training in the kitchen, the Certificate in Culinary Arts program also studies sanitation and safety, beverage and menu management, cost control, and kitchen management. Graduates of this program will be well equipped to gain entry-level employment in the culinary arts field.

About the BS Culinary Management Program

The Culinary Management BS degree focuses more on culinary skills related to running or managing a business. It includes courses on communication, leadership, human resources, marketing, food safety, and technology. The course includes a hands-on externship; otherwise, all instruction is provided in the classroom.

About the AS in Culinary Arts Program

Students of the AS in Culinary Arts degree program get access to two externships in local restaurants, hotels, or clubs before graduation. Skills training focuses on moving from basic skills through advanced culinary methods and theory. The bulk of the coursework takes place in the kitchen doing hands-on learning.

Accreditation

The Art Institute of Indianapolis is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, granting it the authority to award both Associate degrees, Bachelor degrees, and diplomas.

Financial Aid
